VerifyYou is founded by Marty Weiner, the first engineer at Pinterest and Reddit's first CTO. He spent over a decade fighting fraud and abuse at internet scale, watching the same gap appear again and again: how to verify someone is human without compromising their identity. VerifyYou is the layer he's set out to build.
We're hiring a full-stack engineer (1-4 YOE) to help build and ship the systems behind our verification layer. You'll work closely with the founding team, own meaningful surface area on day one, and ship code that goes into production this week, not next quarter.
- Build and ship full-stack features across our verification engine: backend services, APIs, frontend flows, and the glue between them.
- Design and operate event-driven, serverless services that handle sensitive identity data responsibly.
- Contribute to internal tooling, evaluation frameworks, and the infrastructure that lets us iterate fast without breaking trust.
- Own features end-to-end: scope, ship, measure. Tight feedback loops with the founders.
- Backend: Python (FastAPI), C#, Go, or Node/TypeScript. We're flexible on the language but opinionated on quality.
- Frontend: React + TypeScript (required for everyone, even backend-leaning hires).
- Serverless: AWS Lambda, GCP Cloud Run.
- Data: Firestore, Pub/Sub event pipelines, BigQuery, Postgres, SQLAlchemy.
Required:
- 1-4 years of professional engineering experience.
- Strong React + TypeScript, non-negotiable. You can build a real frontend, not just plug into one.
- Production experience with at least one of: Python + FastAPI, C#, Go, Node/TypeScript.
- Hands-on serverless experience (Lambda, Cloud Run, Azure Functions, or equivalent).
- Solid CS fundamentals: data structures, APIs, auth patterns, basic system design.
- Self-starter and independent. Can be thrown into a codebase and thrive, while still working with the team.
Nice to have:
- Identity, auth, security, or trust-and-safety background.
- Biometric / liveness / verification systems exposure.
- Experience working in a production environment.
- DevOps experience (building IaC, CI/CD, CDN management, etc.).
- Previous startup experience or solo project shipping.
The internet has evolved into critical infrastructure, but its trust model hasn't kept pace. AI has made synthetic participation trivial, and legacy solutions like KYC, CAPTCHAs and phone verification are either fragile or invasive. We're building verification infrastructure that proves humanness while keeping personal data private.
You'll own real surface area, ship to production fast, work directly with founders and senior technical leadership, and earn competitive base + meaningful equity.
